Wow!! 12 year anniversary this year…… 12 years ago I opened my first dance club in St Hilary School in Penzance to just 10 children and we are now having the time of our lives travelling the world, meetingamazing inspiring people, collecting national and International awards and living our dreams…
The big dance company is run by myself Fiona Richardson and husband Ben and our son Kyle teaching within the school aswell as touring with our dance group Flava. You can read more about myself and our teachers in our website. Our main studios are here in Chapel Street Penzance. We endeavour to make our classes challenging but fun, upbeat and exciting and with regular shows you get a chance to show off your new found skills in our 10 year running annual show “SHOW OFF”. We have many different classes you can take part in from ages 3 to adults and something to suit everyone.
Being a family run business we have a personal relationship with our dancers and families and see our business as an extension to our family, as dance played such a big part in my life and helping me through some very difficult times as a young adult I see the importance of having a focus and challenge in life as-well as having people around you that you know that you trust and that will be there for you, and really feeling part of something.
As a dancer it is also important to make sure that while taking important theory, practical and written study, you can not beat hands on experience to prepare you for the competitive dance world, so we provide as many experiences as we can for our dancers from performing to 
support local community and charity events to high profile events to 1000′s.
After Flava reached the live semi finals of Britain’s got Talent it really gave us the right publicity to allow us to really get our work with young people recognised, allowing us to reach more children with our ”Binspired” workshops and “This Is Me” sessions, which help young people to gain confidence in who they are and stand up to bullying and anti social behaviour. Being part of the Big Dance Company will give you opportunities to grow as a person, meet amazing new people, travel the UK and the world on International trips , in the past few years we have performed in Germany, Philippines, Abu Dhabi, Loa Angeles!! We are members of the U.D.O, U.K.A, A.D.F.P, C.S.T.D and G.P.T.D.
You may want to dance to keep fit, to socialise , as a career or for a special occasion, whatever the reason we believe that dance can bring the very best out of you, it makes you feel good, it helps you to make friends, build confidence, keep fit and takes you to many exciting places across the world.
