Alesha Dixon Music Video in London

After a less than comfortable nights sleep on the coach up to London we arrived at 3 Mills Studios at around 7.30am. As we were under the impression we were starting at 8am we rushed to get our hair and make up done in the studio canteen…. Glamour all the way!! The brief was sexy punk rock with smokey seductive make up. After Ben and Adam had done theirs the girl’s outfits and make up were checked by the director and stylist. Now all there was left to do was wait to be called and wait and wait and wait. Oh, 5 minute call…. Hmmm and wait and wait and wait and another 5 minute call oh no, a break for lunch. After the agonising decision of whether to stuff our faces or not (its no fun dancing on a full stomach) we had the ‘real’ 5 minute call after lunch. With some of us starting to flag, spirits picked up on the first take. We made up about one third of the dancers there, the other two thirds were agency professionals.

The scene was set in a club and we were required to dance like no one was watching, head banging, jumping and clapping. It seemed that we were giving it 100 times more than everyone else and then after the 15th take we realised why! With some of us already regretting wearing heels and being only 3 hours in we knew we had long night ahead of us. Despite the pain we were all having so much fun. It was as close to a club scene as they could have got, yes"> it felt like a fun night out with the girls the whole time, just there was only one track; Alesha Dixon’s new song ‘Lets Get Excited. A fast paced ‘poppy’ record that has loads of attitude and really gets you going. You know it’s going to do well when you still want to jump about to it 20 takes in. A few of us had our hair styled professionally. One being Cat who had been given an amazing Mohican. She was strategically placed in lots of shots and regularly tweaked and pampered by the hair and make up stylist. Charlie’s boots nearly stole the show as did her friend Sasha’s sneeky freestyling solo. Around 9pm and no much more than a few 5 minute breaks we stop for dinner. Yummmy pizza and chocolate was just what was needed. We knew the final scene was to be a club scene where we were all being sprayed with a water cannon. After dinner lots of the dancers seemed to be leaving saying they didn’t want to get wet, not us though… this is what we had all been waiting for. Also, what Adam and Ben had been waiting for. The boys had been asked to play the drums and guitar at some point and after a 12 hour wait they were finally put into place. Just a few more scenes to be shot before the water cannons. A young guy crowd surfing who seemingly looked scared for his life and 5 HOT male dancers who had been choreographed with Alesha. Alesha had been great all day. Really chatty and always thanked us after a take, and soooooooooo beautiful. I don’t think many of us expected to be rocking out with her in the final scenes with the water pistols. She was so up for it and looked like she was having as much fun as everyone else. She was smashing away at Ben’s symbols which he had no complaints about. Only a few takes in the water and the director call ‘that’s a wrap’. What a shame, I think we could have gone on all night. Everyone did so well and danced their little socks off but by midnight it was time for the 8hr drive that was ahead of us. We had nothing but positive feedback form the director so fingers crossed you will see a few familiar faces when the video comes out in May.
