Charlotte Lodey

Hi, my name is Charlotte Lodey I am one of the dance teachers at Fiona Richardson's Big Dance Company. I started my love of dance at the age of three when I started Classical Ballet Training with the McGowan School of Dance. I studied Ballet,Modern and Jazz up to the age of eighteen. I then studied Performing Arts at Chichester University gaining a 2:1 Honours Degree and worked on several dance and perfromance projects. Whilst at University I trained with a group of Breakdancers known as the Floor Cru. These guys taught me a lot about Hip Hop and street dance and helped fuel my growing love of the style.

I worked on several jobs as a backing dancer for shows in the South of Engand before moving back down to Cornwall.
Back in Cornwall I became a registered member of the British Thetare and Dance Association and use this awarding body to teach Ballet technique. I also have Secondary School Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and teach full time at Mounts Bay School in Penzance in the dance department.

At Fiona Richardson I teach classes in adult and baby Ballet and street dance, I also offer private lessons and I am the trainer for the Under 12 Hip hop Team named 'Tricky'.
As well as the other teachers at the school I am also a member of the Guild of Professional Teachers of Dance and insured through this association.
